MOTION TECHNIQUE CLASS

With our middle/high school athletes and beyond, we want to teach not only the basics to any newer athletes but also how cheerleading is equally as mental as it is physically challenging. In our motion technique classes, we will be doing intense motion drills, building the athletes' stamina (ever been to a pilates or Zumba class? Sort of like that). We want to make sure we are teaching how the main purpose of cheer is sportsmanship, I mean - you are a part of a team now! During our hour practice, we will be:

Learning motion drills at a high-intensity level

Learning the basic motions/correct placement with counts

Learning motions to count with music

Learning sideline chants

Showmanship involved whether you are on the mat or sideline

Having a group circle at the end to talk about what they learned, what they did well, and what they want to improve on

We want to make sure we are teaching how the main purpose of cheer is sportsmanship, I mean - you are a part of a team now! During our hour practice, we will be:

Proper and intense jump stretching - be ready to be challenged

Proper jump techniques and prepping

Jumping on counts with and without music to work on timing

Having a group circle at the end to talk about what they learned, what they did well, and what they want to improve on
