MOTION TECHNIQUE CLASS
With our 7-11 year old athletes, we still want to continue to teach the fun in cheerleading, but also start to incorporate a little more discipline compared to the 6 years old and under classes. Our goal is to teach multiple motion drills and chants to prep these athletes for tryouts, competitions, etc. We will be doing motions to music right off the bat, and critiquing motion placement every step of the way. Our goal is to teach these young athletes that cheerleading is fun, while also teaching them the mental and physical discipline that starts to take place prior to going into middle school. During our hour practice, we will be:
Learning how to keep motions sharp, while also keeping the correct placement
How to do sideline chants and band dances correctly with tight motions
Learning multiple motion drills and chants to work on timing and counts with motions
Learning the correct showmanship when on the sidelines, competition floor, etc.
Having a group circle at the end to talk about what they learned, what they did well, and what they want to improve on
JUMP TECHNIQUE CLASS
With our 7-11 year old athletes, we still want to continue to teach the fun in cheerleading, but also start to incorporate a little more discipline compared to the 6 years old and under classes. Our goal is to teach our athletes how to properly stretch to improve their jumps, learn how to stay tight/motion placement for the prep of their jumps, and overall timing/jump improvement. We will be doing jumps to music to teach how to stay on counts right off the bat, and critiquing every step of the way. Our goal is to teach these young athletes that cheerleading is fun, while also teaching them the mental and physical discipline that starts to take place prior to going into middle school. During our hour practice, we will be:
Learning how to properly and effectively stretch to improve jump flexibility and height
Learning the proper way to prep and the motions involved
Learning how to jump on counts with music and without music
Having a group circle at the end to talk about what they learned, what they did well, and what they want to improve on
